It’s midnight at walmart the parking is better than noon
There’s late night consumers still looking for goods to consume
The stockers are stocking the shelves
With 10,000 hats for your head
And the friendly old people that greet us
They have all long, all long since gone to bed

The wheel on my cart rattles loudly down isle 93
Another late night shopper smiles kindly and says hi to me
But from the corner of my eye I spy
A deal that’s too good to believe
It’s a waffle maker slash fondu set
And it’s buy one, buy one get one free!

The corporate supercenters killed the mom and pop stores downtown
Encouraging consumers with every sight and every sound
Blurring the lines between need and want, in the gredioius way
But the difference between need and want my friend
It’s like the difference, like the difference between night and day

I exit the isle by cosmetics and what do I see
That yellow smiley face is still smiling and staring at me
It follows me wherever I go
Just giving me that old evil eye
Into the mastermind behind that which is walmart
Before I shop at your store again, I think i’d rather die
